Besides consultations with Diabetologist, KID offers consultations with super specialists dealing with Vitreo retinal problems, Podiatry, Nephrodiabetology, Cardiodiabetology, Neurodiabetology and Psychodiabetology. KID also boasts of trained and efficient Nutritionists and diabetes educators. Orthotic recommendations, foot care services and foot wear solutions, paediatric diabetes clinic, pregnancy diabetes clinic, lipid clinic, obesity clinic, diabetes educator clinic, physiotherapy, nutrition consultation, diabetes prevention clinic are other services offered.
The Vitreo-retinal department(view above photo number 5,14,15,16) is the eye into the soul of diabetes. Nowhere can the inside of the human body be approached non-invasively except in the eye, where the intricate details of the blood vessels and nerves can be minutely examined.
The department is equipped for this very reason with the top state-of-the-art instrumentation both for diagnosis and treatment, so as to enable an accurate diagnosis of the disease process.
There are 2 super-specialists, vitreo-retinal specialists, who are helped by an optometrist and 2 clinical assistants in the endeavor to achieve quality care and excellence.Modern ophthalmic chairs aid in diagnostic evaluation. There is a fundus camera to help clinch the diagnosis. An OCT or optical coherence tomography instrument, a OCT-SLO, complements the diagnostic ability by taking a scan of the visual area of the eye, otherwise known as the macula.Angiography of the retina is done in cases where advance disease is suspected, just as is done for the heart and brain. For this too, the latest instrument is in place.The crowning glory of the vitreo-retinal dept is the ultra-tech, PASCAL LASER, which precisely delivers laser to the retina, for treatment purposes in advanced diseases.An ultra-sound B Scan, Green laser photocoagulation completes the setting of a modern vitreo-retinal dept.Doctors and staff is constantly involved in a number of procedures like FFAs, LASER treatments and a wide number of other procedures related to eye care.
The Department(view above photo number 6,7,8,17,18,19) of Podiatry is equipped with Pedoscan, In-shoe Pedography, Transcutaneous Measurement of Oxygen (TCPO2), Periscope, Automated Doppler study, PPG( Photoplethysmograph), VPT( Vibration Perception Threshold Study) HCP( Hot and Cold Perception Study) , Pedopodogram, Non Contact Foot temperature Study, TENS ( Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) IFT( Interferential Therapy) , Infrared LED light Therapy and CANS( Cardiac Autonomic Neuropathy Study). Doctors and nursing staff work as a team here in treating, educating and imparting valuable knowledge about foot care to patients with diabetes.

The department of nutrition therapy and diabetes education(view above photo number 23). consists of a team of qualified and dedicated nutritionists who spend quality time with the patient recalling diet history, prescribing custom made diet, clearing any myths and misconceptions around diet in diabetes and also educating them on insulin techniques and hypoglycaemia management which are very much a part of diabetes care.
The patient is guided through these services by KID’s friendly and dedicated staff and at the end of the day patient receives comprehensive and holistic diabetic care and that too, all under one roof.
