Community campaign at Satnur village
At Satnur Village
Rural diabetes care services were initiated for the first time in Satnur village, Kanakapura Taluk, 60km from KID, on 15th June 2008. This is the first time in India that any Government Institute has taken such a big leap to cover rural areas and take specialized diabetes care services to the doorsteps of villagers. As per the planned format, individuals from Satnur village are pre registered with the help of local health worker. For these individuals fasting blood sugar testing (FBS) was done and for all known diabetic individuals along with FBS and PPBS; anthropometrical measurements were carried out by trained staff with the help of WHO recommended standard equipments. Complete examination by doctors was carried out.
